MacOS defaults to BlackHole as a mic

Noticed a while ago that when I answer calls from my iPhone, the person on the other end never hears me. The same thing happened on FaceTime, and even when I pressed the dictation button. It wasn’t until recently that I figured this could be the problem.

For FaceTime and WhatsApp, changing mics is easy. But when I answer calls from my iPhone, there’s no solution unless I restart my laptop. After a while, the problem will come back. For dictation, changing the audio input in dictation settings seems to solve that. The main issue I still have is the iPhone calls; I still haven’t figured out a permanent solution.

If anything that would be macOS. BlackHole does not manage that at all. Maybe try to set all your audio devices as default one by one except BlackHole. There is a priority list. Devin
