Theme selected locally in cards doesn't apply poperly to Dashboard Views

I have the same problem - even updated to the newest HA Core.

I use the "area-card-plus" by xBourner for my rooms on my home dashboard. In the area cards there is the
possibility to select a theme just for that one card - I choose Mocca. In global I use the "waves" theme or the
standard theme - all in light mode.

When updating to 2.0.1, my area cards get light instead of dark. Changing back to 1.0.2 helps._

I'm sorry to say that this issue isn't fixed by the new version ...
Same try with a button-card to give the local theme "Catppucin Mocha".
In general I use "waves" as global - and have my devices (pc, mobile) in light mode.

Do you need some more help to find the problem?

Or you could contact "xbourner" from the "area-card-plus", because he even had problems some month ago with a new interpretation of themes or css (I don't know exactly the reason) by a major update of HA - perhapes it was 2025.8 or 2025.7?

What version of catppuccin are you using? This should be fixed in v2.1.0. I personally tested setting a single card / view to a different light/dark theme with catppuccin 2.1.0 on the latest HA (2025.10), and it worked perfectly.

Just updated to 2025.10.2 (from 2025.9.4), but no change anywhere ...

The problem is with catpuccin 2.1.0 - but even was with 2.0.1 and I think een with. 2.0.0.
When changing back to 1.0.2 all works fine again.

I've tried - when switsching to "standard theme" as global (per session/user configuration), then catpuccin will work right with the button-card, but not whith the area-card-plus. And when switching to the theme "waves" it will not work correctly with both of them.

What I want - and what I get ... in pictures ... ;-)

You would find "waves" and "area-card-plus" both on the HACS - and the author of the area cards, xbourner, is on the discord server - and he es very helpfully and most times with very quick reactions there. And if you need more code snipets, configuration data, test from me, just tell it ... ;-)

Correction - somehow the HA update didn't work, so I'm still using 2025.9.4.
When I find the time to try the updating to 2025.10.2 again, I'll test again and tell you ... sorry!

It should still work with 2025.9. This sounds like it's a compatibility bug with either waves or the area-plus-card. Third party cards and mixing third party themes are not really in the scope of this project. I'll try to take a look if I can find the time though. If anyone else wants to dig into it and report your findings / put up a PR with a fix, be my guest.
