Update using Winget

Hey all,

Mostly I use winget to update/upgrade applications. miniforge shown up on the winget list too. When I want to update miniforge using winget (winget upgrade CondaForge.Miniforge3) I'm getting an error in the below. In my opinion this is not an issue however I'm curious about why upgrading is listed if I can't upgrade in the same path. (I'm aware of that upgrading miniforge is not like any other softwares).

::error:: Directory 'C:\ProgramData\miniforge3' is not empty, please choose a different location.

I don't think this is a winget. Issue. I get the same error if I call

 .\Miniforge3-24.11.3-2-Windows-x86_64.exe /S /AllUsers /AddToPath=0 /RegisterPython=0

The same issue also occurs with the gui.

do the equivalent of

rm -rf C:\ProgramData\miniforge3

before starting....

That would also delete all existing environments. Is it not possible to make the installer intelligent enough to automatically delete the old files (but keep the envs)?

^^^^ The base environment should now be active
conda update

follow the prompts.

I'm not sure how winget (or any other script) should call this reliably (e.g. what if conda is not in the path?)
