Wingpanel doesn't respond unless clicked on something

What Happened?

Hi.

After recent updates, I observed that if I click Caps Lock or Num Lock, the indicator doesn't show unless I click on something else on the wingpanel. It remembers what I've clicked, but does not respond to the action immediately. It happens in both Secure and Classic sessions.

Unrelated comment - you should have the option to select "Both" in the Session Type dropdown.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Click Ctrl Lock
2. Observe that no indicator appears on Wingpanel
3. Click on the Volume indicator, and the Caps Lock indicator appears.
4. The same is with the reverse action, click off the Caps Lock
5. Observe that the indicator is still on Wingpanel
6. Click on the Volume indicator, and the Caps Lock indicator disappears.

Does this only happen with the caps and num lock items or does this happen with any other panel item?

@danirabbit Other wingpanel icons are fixed; they do not appear and disappear, so it's difficult to say, but they react to events immediately. Turning on and off the Bluetooth changes the icon, and mouse scrolling on the volume control icon also changes the icon accordingly.
