I also like PyCMOR. If all agree, let's for it then. |

Hi there,
I'd like to invite the community to join in our discussion for a potential new name. The following is originally from an email-chain of the internal development team.
For admins: to add an option, you need to edit the body of this text
I look forward to hearing your opinions!
Cheers,

Hi together,
Typing pymor in google search engine shows you many results of another software pyMOR for model order reductions and the corresponding literature. Besides that the logo is very similar to ours, also in blue with capital letters and a color gradient from light to dark. And they have already a special domain pymor.org.
Therefor I would like to initiate a brainstorming about a new name, in order to avoid confusion for our potential users. Although the name/brand of PyMOR is already used in the discussion with other institutions and in the RSD, I think it is not to late to change or modify the name before we are planning a broader community involvement.
What about a small modification to “esm_pymor” clarifying that our PyMOR is a tool of the ESM community? As logo I would suggest to change the font for more optical distance to the other logo and to add a small globe with a sparse mesh above the letters. Other idea is to include the globe as the letter “O” into the name.
Any other ideas?
Best,
Bernadette
