Description of the Issue

67xx NF laser ran into and error if command are send/fetch while scanning. The laser does not respond anymore after that.

Error code

Error 201: VALUE OUT OF RANGE. This error is generated when the instrument is unable to process a command because the parameter value received is out of range of the acceptable values for the command

How to Generate the Erorr

From Daniil Lunkin

Hi Greg,

Thanks so much for replying to my email. We have Velocity 6700. Thank you for your suggestion about not fetching wavelength. Indeed, that's a better method, because we are not looking for great accuracy during computer-controlled scanning (for accuracy we have MZI).

However, it seems like any communication with the laser during the scan (including checking for status), results in an error after several minutes of doing communication with the laser: It would beep, give error 201 (value out of range), and then communication would become impossible without restarting the controller (even the GUi software that they supply is no longer able to communicate with the laser).

The error shows up during scanning, and does not happen if a scan is not running.

I wonder if there is some buildup of messages in buffer/memory leak, etc that may cause that, since it happens not right away but after a while.

Of course I would appreciate any advice you may have, but please do not spend too much time on this. But if error 201 is something you have seen show up before in a non-deterministic fashion, any leads would be great.

And, again, thanks a lot for making your code available to others!

Best regards,

Daniil
