Description
I wrote this mainly looking for information about the VxD version of SPY, since it refuses to load under Windows 3.1, and while it will load on the retail version of Windows 95, it quickly crashes during startup. This, along with the dates and references to DOS386 (what was in Windows 3.1 and earlier versions known as WIN386, and in Windows 95 and later known as VMM32.VXD) suggests that it was built for a beta version of Chicago, and I was wondering if you could shed some more light on the VxD version of SPY.
To me, it seems to be almost like SoftICE (i.e. a debugger for DOS apps on your same machine using Virtual-86 mode, plus a Windows kernel debugger also on your same machine, though SPY doesn't seem to quite have all of the features of WDEB386).
