Open MPI Developer Migration Guide

Many things have changed under the covers between the v1.8/v1.10 series and the v2.x series (remember: the v1.8 series was ultimately renamed into the v1.10 series -- i.e., these two names effectively represent a single development branch).

This is a short guide to developers that lists the major items that have changed since the v1.8/v1.10 series:

  • BTLs (and several other associated frameworks) moved from the OMPI project down to the OPAL project
  • No longer make debug builds from git clones (by default)
