Mathpix Snipping Tool Version

Is it really so, that the version number of the mathpix snipping tool is different [higher] on MacOS?
I'm maintaining the NixOS package, and repology constantly pings me about the package being outdated.

Could someone try out the mac app and go to the "about" dialog. For me on Linux it looks like

According to https://mathpix.com/appcast.xml the version numbers are handled differently on MacOS...
