Hi there,

issue is i am unable to install any package or update any package.

Looks like a permissions issue, but can't really tell the details from the output given.

You'll have a much better time if you installed Homebrew into /usr/local, e.g. using the install script with

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

If you install Homebrew into /usr/local then you'll be able to use bottles (pre-compiled binary packages), which will save you from having to build packages from source (which seems to be the source of your problems here).

Try deleting some folders like these:

brew cleanup \
sudo rm -rf /var/folders/* \
sudo rm -rf /tmp/*

and reboot.

I believe it might be a permission issue with temporary files. Most of these are temporary files and folders, but proceed at your own risk.

Your brew doctor indicates you're running macOS: 15.1-x86_64. From your logs, it looks like you're installing wget. Currently, the Homebrew Formulae info page for wget shows support for Sequoia only on Apple Silicon.

It's not clear to me if support for Sequoia on Intel Macs will enjoy support parity with Apple Silicon. The closest thing I could find regarding this situation is this issue.

This discussion thread, while ostensibly about the end of Monterrey support, seems apropos here (emphasis mine):

We also have a second tier of support where macOS 10.11 to 12 does still "work" but you may have to build more and more things from source as we don't offer prebuilts for those versions. So when we dropped support for macOS 12, not every package doesn't suddenly stop working at once - just new versions going forward will require source builds and are untested whether they work.

That is incorrect. Bottles are supported, building from source is never supported.

That is also incorrect, it shows no bottle exists for Sequoia. Bottles for older versions generally work fine on newer macOS versions, so there is generally not much difference for users wether a specific OS match exists or not.

Sequoia Intel uses Sonoma Intel bottles unless there is a specific reason they won't work.
