Linux - Homebrew install script/website missing an install step

Description of issue

I'm on fedora 42 and the install guide is missing a step. This blog has the command.

The command to get homebrew working is:
echo 'eval "$(/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/brew shellenv)"' >> ~/.bash_profile eval "$(/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/brew shellenv)"

After running, homebrew works perfect.

What install guide? Because the installer will tell you to run this.

I just spun up a Fedora container and ran our install script. The output included the following under “Next steps”:

- Run these commands in your terminal to add Homebrew to your PATH:
    echo >> /root/.bashrc
    echo 'eval "$(/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/brew shellenv)"' >> /root/.bashrc
    eval "$(/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/brew shellenv)"

So the install script already prints the brew shellenv setup instructions. Nothing appears to be missing.

Thank you. I'm not a developer and am using it as a dependency for another application. I assumed the installer would do everything, or install instructions would specify additional commands.

@p-linnane after more thought, I still stand by the install instructions should specify what you need to do, or at least specify to read the console output for further commands. If a website says "run this to install," and it doesn't "fully install," then it needs to specify otherwise. I'm slightly more technical than average, so this kind of scattered instructions will discourage less technical people from using the software.

As posted above, the install script clearly states what to do. I'm not sure what else you want here. If your concern is that people will install and not read the output of the installer script, that's not really something we can fix.
