Because it's trying to use upstream registry. Can I set an internal registry to point to https://magic.com/npm-repos. Couldn't find any info on this at https://docs.brew.sh/Node-for-Formula-Authors#installing-global-style-modules-with-std_npm_args-to-libexec. Setting ENV seems to not work 🤔

Sadly not, I'm not sure what magic is happening here but is still running and failing running:

I don't see the --registry=https://magic.com/npm-repos flag being passed in the command you just pasted. Not sure what's going on, but I'd look into why that flag isn't being included.

I suspect you updated the formula file at ~/git/bbgithub/magic-homebrew/Formula/magic-cli.rb when you should be editing the formula at

brew edit --print-path bernat/magic-homebrew-local/magic-cli

instead. If your EDITOR environment variable is set appropriately, you should be able to just do

brew edit bernat/magic-homebrew-local/magic-cli

I did untap and tap in between runs, so this shouldn't be the case, should it?
