Description of issue

Hello, I am using KDE Linux and brew is pretty great tool for installing CLI tools for it, such as language servers.

However, we noticed that the Python homebrew installs takes over the system one, causing issues: https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/issues/278

That's really not fault of Homebrew, it' just unfortunate mismatch.

However, is there any way to tell homebrew to ignore installing python?
Some configuration thing or anything else like that?

It would also block you from installing anything that depends on Python. I don't think that's what you want.

Maybe somehow mark it as installed? I would like to rely on the system python in this case.

You can brew unlink Homebrew Python when using kde-builder. I wouldn't recommend to rely on system Python when installing software from Homebrew as we do not test this configuration (and therefore cannot guarantee it works)

No, Homebrew considers its own python as the system version so it has no mechanism to mark software external to homebrew as a homebrew installed component.
