Unexpected warning for pydantic

Description of issue

I get a warning when use brew cleanup:

Warning: Skipping pydantic: most recent version 2.12.4 not installed

Not sure why does it think that this is the most recent version, I have 2.41.4 installed, it seems?

$ brew list pydantic
/opt/homebrew/Cellar/pydantic/2.41.4/lib/python3.13/ (16 files)

Most likely you had pydantic-core formula installed before but it was merged with pydantic formula. Just reinstall the program, the warning message should disappear

I assumed it's a dependency for some formula, since I have never installed it explicitly

I uninstalled it, doesn't seem to be the case, but now I have a different warning:

$ brew uninstall pydantic
Uninstalling /opt/homebrew/Cellar/pydantic/2.41.4... (40 files, 10MB)

$ brew list|grep -c pydantic
0

$ brew cleanup

Interestingly, brew doctor complained:

$ brew doctor

So, I installed it back

$ brew install pydantic

The issue is most likely in the metadata for whatever formula was installed that used pydantic-core. Can you check the output of brew uses --installed pydantic and brew uses --installed pedantic-core? Anything using pydantic-core should be reinstalled.

That was helpful. cfn-lint was showing it

$ brew uses --installed pydantic-core
Warning: Formula pydantic-core was renamed to pydantic.
cfn-lint

uninstalling/installing back got rid of the warning

Had a similar but not the same, that pydantic moved from 2.41.4 to 2.12.5 during update and now I know why.
