Release 0.11

The PKCS#11 3.2 changes as well as most of the important mechanisms landed. Is there anything else than #318, #317 that we need before cutting next release?

Any thoughts about #290 (API change) and #302 (could land later as it wont change API)? Any other ideas/thoughs @hug-dev @wiktor-k ?

FWIW I'd like to proceed with #290 but we can release 0.11 and then the next release will be a bit breaking. There's no pressure on my side but I think #290 addresses some common concerns...

Agree that we can have #290 merged before releasing! For me it's good as it is :)

Maybe #289 as well since it addresses bugs? We could split the PR ourselves and mention @mematthias as original author if they don't have the time/will to do the work themselves :)

I am generally wary of "scaring away" new contributors with too many comments/change requests 😅 So maybe this one should be on us! Happy to do it.

I think most of the 289 is already merged. I just needed a rebase to figure out whats left, but it was not done for months.

Agreed that #289 is merged. I think the only left parts are dependency upgrades (which could be done manually with cargo upgrade --incompatible && cargo update and seeing if that works). The core of #289 was removing bad use of MaybeUninit and that's done.

Hi all,

I'd appreciate a release after resolving #333 by, e.g., merging the PR or reverting 1994987 .

Looking at the above discussion the open issues are:

• Allow working with a non-finalizing Pkcs11 #290: Stalled since beginning of November
• Fix Pkcs11::new bug preventing PKCS#11 library loading and bump rust-version and update deps #289: Resolved
• Fix the link checker job #302: Stalled since August
• Add pub unsafe accessors for object/session handles and ObjectHandle new #317: Resolved
• Run tests against fips kryoptic current main #318: Resolved

#290 is something that @wiktor-k wanted to work on. @Jakuje mentioned #302, but said it would be a nice to have in 0.11, but not necessary.

As background information, I'd like to release sequoia-cryptoki, which currently uses the main branch of this repository, and I'd like to add a new cryptoki backend to sequoia-keystore, which uses sequoia-cryptoki.

If you need help with something, please let me know what, and I'll see if I can lend a hand.

An update:

#333 was resolved by #337 .

#290 was closed as the work was merged as part of #326 .

So the only open issue is #302 , which @Jakuje said is optional.

Seems like we are indeed good to go!!

One last thing I wanted to make sure is if the latest main works well with @EliseChouleur use-case about threading. Some of it has been described in this PR #325.
