Problem with restore in GKE imported cluster. Namespace and project are not reconcile.

My current setup is use rancher docker in vm and imported GKE as a downstream cluster. Then install the rancher backup in the GKE. When i perform the restore backup the namespace and project are not reconcile. Does this a normal behavior when we use rancher backup with imported cluster ?

Sorry but this is not a supported setup.
Rancher is not meant to run only on docker outside of demo purposes. Any supported setup would require:

• Rancher Installed via Helm chart,
• A supported k8s distro (k3s, rke2, etc)
• A k8s version matching the supported versions for the Rancher Minor version you are using

Are you attempting to backup/restore resources on the downstream GKE cluster with BRO? If so, what resources and from what origin do they come? I may be misunderstanding the details of this issue, however it appears that you may be trying to use BRO in an unintended manner.

The main intended use of BRO (aka Rancher Backups) is to backup and restore, or migrate, the Rancher Manager specific state on a k8s cluster. In other words, out of the box it's only really intended to be backing up the k8s resources related to a specific installation of the rancher/rancher helm chart/app. So unless you are using a custom ResourceSet to define what resources to backup, then BRO will likely not work as you intend for it to work on a downstream cluster.

Please let me know if I'm not understanding your use-case of BRO(Rancher Backups).
