NVIDIA documentation is missing crucial steps to setting up dracut modules and modprobe configuration for wayland to function properly.
These steps should be added:

Add "options nvidia-drm modeset=1" to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf
Add "add_drivers+=" nvidia nvidia_modeset nvidia_drm nvidia_uvm "
Execute sudo dracut -f
reboot
