I'd like to mention that I'm working on a somewhat larger change that allows support for dogstatsd tags and to support that I've refactored the tests again. Maybe we can discuss the approach when I'm done. Should be early next week. |

The current unit tests do not compile since they assume a TCP instead of a UDP server. I've refactored the tests to take care of that. Please have a look.
