About the PR
a lot of the salvage ruins were made a long time ago, and they are starting to show their age, either in terms of loot tables or designs that no longer work in the modern game, and in some cases are just kind of broken as they were built for mechanics that no longer work the same way. i went though and touched up a bunch of them.
below is a list of all the ones i changed and what was changed:
engi chunk
this one was always really disappointing, you see 'large' and get excited but its pretty empty besides a few
crusher spawns, i added an rtg and a few maints insul spawners as well as some other engi themed loot
vegan meatball
this one just felt like a giant middle finger to ruin salvs day. an insane number of crystal monster from hell spawers [something salv isnt very specialized to deal with] for basically nothing. i toned down the luminous spawners and added some more botany loot crates, and a packet of
killer tomatoe seeds.
asteroid base
another large one thats big but empty, the rocks dont even have plasma ore despite the heavy plasma theming,
so i added some ores and a stack of plasma as loot
small syndi
another dosappointing one, its meant to be a syndicate themed wreck but its got fuck all besides some interdynes.
i replaced the shuttle console with a syndi shuttle console [aesthetic only difference], put a syndi flippo in
the smokeables crate, and added a syndiedrobe. the last one might be controversial, but its all aesthetic-only
clothes.
old ai sat
this one was in bad need of a rework of its halls, the way directional windows changed since it was made so
you literally couldnt walk around anymore, i fixed that and modernized the loot spawns a bit
whiteship ancient
i just didnt like how this one has no cables under its floor, meaning you need to rip up all the tiles if you
want to convert and power it. so i added an lv network
small 1 [clown]
i get that this one is kinda meant to be 'bad on purpose', but i felt it should at least lean heavier on
the clown theme, so i added more clown items and bananium.
small a 1 [tf reference]
this one is just a tf2 engineer reference. while nice, its still a big letdown for a salv team as it has
nothing. i atleast increased the ammount of ores in the rocks to make it worth something, instead of just being
a dead weight that forces you to wait five minutes for a new ruin.
syndicate dropship
the wallmount sub and apc were inverted to be external facing, and the doors used tinyfans isntead of
directional fans. i also added a syndie eva locker both because it makes sense for the pilot to have it and
its cool
biodome sat
this one is mostly fine but for some reason it has ammo drums instead of an ammo box of beanbags, for the
double barrel on the ruin? ammo drums are meant to really only be for bulldogs, so i replaced them.
ai survery drone
genuinely hate this one, a big fuck you turret for nothing. i added some salvage weapon spawners and a tech disk,
as it had literally nothing for the trouble of dealing with its turret.
waffle home/wh-salvage
considering the large number of enemies you need to fight, this one had pretty sub par loot. i just added
more spesos and gold jewelry, as well as a waffle co flippo [i think it fits pretty well] and a custom named
mosin to fit waffle co's lore.
ruined prison ship
this one is mine, i made a small error in the cable layout when making it and used this opportunity to fix it.
